What is Shaft Work?

The weight which is raised by the batter-motor-pulley device.
A battery is connected to a motor and there is a pulley on the shaft of the motor. When the motor runs, the rope winds around the pulley and the weight is raised.

Shaft Work

:
The

work

associated with the transmission of energy through a

rotating shaft

is commonly encountered in many engineering problems.
Lets isolate the shaft and the pulley in order to determine the relationship between the applied torque, the number of revolutions through which the shaft turns and the

shaft work.
