• I have spent a lot of time discussing vaporization because it is absolutely essential in this course.
• The good news is that all of the techniques associated with using HPP’s to calculate the change in properties associated with a phase change can be used for any phase change.
• The only difference is that you must look up the heat of fusion or the heat of sublimation.
• In general, values of these two latent heats are quite a bit harder to find than the heat of vaporization.
• The NIST WebBook includes quite a few heats of fusion but very little data for heat of sublimation.
• You may have to search journals articles in your library or online if you need to locate heat of sublimation data.
