• There are sets of tables of thermodynamic properties of subcooled liquids.
• They are called the subcooled tables for each substance.  There is more than one subcooled table for each substance because each table applies at only one pressure.  If you are wondering why this is so, just wait until we get to chapter 3 and you’ll see.
• The 1st column in each table is temperature and the LAST temperature listed is usually the saturation temperature.
• All of the other temperatures in the table are lower than the saturation temperature, or else it wouldn’t be a subcooled table, now would it ?
• So, in each table, the rows give values of the thermodynamic properties of the subcooled substance at the pressure associated with the table and at the temperature associated with the row.
• The same properties appear in the subcooled tables as in the saturated tables: Vhat, Uhat, Hhat and Shat.
• But for now we will only deal with the specific volume.
• Keep in mind that all of the techniques that we use for Vhat apply equally well for Uhat, Hhat and Shat.
• Now, let’s see how to use the subcooled tables.
